Charleston is famous for a lot of things- the history throughout the city, the amazing weather, the delicious food, and most significantly- our beaches! There are a lot of great beaches to choose from in Charleston, and choosing which one to spend the day at can be a daunting task. That’s why we’re going to break down the best beaches in Charleston and give you information about each one- including where to eat, what the beach is known for, and some fun facts!
Where To Eat: There are a lot of great options for dining on Folly Beach. If you are looking for a great breakfast, check out The Lost Dog Cafe, and Taco Boy is a great spot for family dining and great Mexican food!
Fun Fact: Folly Beach is nicknamed “The Edge of America” by local residents!
What To Do: Being in Kiawah is like staying on your own private island. Walk the beach and look out for wildlife, bring your bike, take your own tour of the surrounding homes, and relax on the not so crowded beaches!
Where To Eat: Dining at the Kiawah Island Ocean Course Clubhouse is always a great option, and the close by shops at Freshfields offer great coffee shops like Java Java and delicious favorites like Cantina 76.
Fun Fact: Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course was home to this year’s PGA Championship, where Phil Mickelson took home the trophy!
What To Do: When you arrive at Isle of Palms, be sure to join in a Beach Volleyball game or check out a concert at the famous Windjammer!
Where To Eat: The Amce Lowcountry Kitchen is known for great southern seafood, and Luke n’ Ollie’s Pizzaeria is known as some of the best pizza in all of Charleston!
Fun Fact: In the early 1900’s, an amusement park was once located on Isle of Palms!
